The first chapter of Revelation begins in Heaven
with praises to the Messiah for the washing of sins. Then verse 7 says “every eye” will see him, “even they who pierced Him” will see Him. In other words, when Jesus comes with clouds as the
Redeemer, not only will the Jewish
nation of Israel see him but so will all the nations of the world. Then they
will all mourn.
Revelation 1:7 NKJV
... Behold, He is coming with clouds,
and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the
tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.
The phrase in Revelation 1:7 that says, all the tribes of the earth will mourn when they see Him coming with clouds links this verse to Matthew 24:30 as it also says “all the tribes of the earth will see Him and will mourn.” And since Matthew 24:30-31 is linked to the Luke 21:25-28 passage that is undoubtedly
about redemption, this assures us that Revelation 1:5-7 is also about Jesus
returning for the believers’ Harvest,
not to Armageddon.
Matthew 24:30 NKJV
Then the sign of the Son of Man (Jesus on the clouds) will appear in heaven (sky),
and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (for the redemption of
believers). (P+)
Since
Revelation 1:7, Matthew 24:30 and the Old Testament prophecy in Zechariah 12:10
all speak about seeing Jesus and mourning when He returns, we now understand
that these passages are all referring to the Harvest for both Jews and
Gentile believers. Later, it will be shown that the people of Israel will
be the last to accept Jesus as their Savior during the Tribulation making it
clear that Jesus will return at the very end of the Tribulation after everyone has received Him.
